The Israel Coins & Medals Corp., the ICMC, was established in 1961 by Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Gen Gurion, and belonged to the Government of Israel until the year 2008.

In 2008 the company was privatized and taken over by G.R.A.S. Design Combinations, Ltd., active and respected in Israel for over two decades in the field of fine jewelry design as well as of original Israeli art.

G.R.A.S., the new owners and operators, undertook to preserve the unique characteristics of the ICMC vis a vis the Government of Israel and to maintain its dedication to the values for which the ICMC was renowned, since its inception, in accordance with Ben Gurion’s original vision. The company’s objectives, as per Ben Gurion, have been to commemorate historic and national events, scientific achievements and cultural and social and milestones and to celebrate significant people and places in Jewish and Israeli life, as well as to provide an artistic expression of these and of more personal events in one’s lifetime experiences.

The Israel Coins & Medals Corp. has undertaken to be an ambassador to the world at large, presenting specific Israeli products which give expression to Israeli creativity; Israeli art, folkart and decorative items; and to commemorative Israeli medals and coins issued by the Bank of Israel.

The company specializes in 6 areas of expertise, as follows:

The ICMC is the sole and exclusive distributor on behalf of the Bank of Israel of all commemorative coins and uncirculated coin sets which it issues.

The ICMC mints Medals for the State of Israel as well as official medals for other organizations upon request.

The ICMC promotes both Israeli and Jewish art and folkart and represents talented artists, painters, sculptors and designers by supplying their various artistic creations.

* The ICMC produces and sells a variety of original Israeli gift items, including Judaica like Hanukkah menorahs, wedding Ketubboth, Biblical books, etc.

The ICMC designs, produces and sells original quality jewelry, in limited editions, in sterling silver and gold, with precious and semiprecious stones.

The ICMC collaborates with the Israel Antiquities Authority to create authentic reproductions of archaeological finds from ancient Israel, both coins and other artifacts, as well as offering for sale, under strict limitations and licensing conditions, ancient coins from archaeological digs in Israel.


All merchandise offered for sale by the ICMC is available in limited editions, signed and numbered, and each item represents a valuable legacy, to be enjoyed today and to be handed down from generation to generation.
